The tomato curry soup was absolutely delicious. I had a croquadille (sp?) sandwich on wheat, toasted. Also delicious, however I would either cut the onion up smaller or leave it off entirely next time. Super friendly, polite people working hard for the money. Great stop. The salt and pepper shakers are adorable. The gluten free peanut butter cookie, yummy. I should have ordered one to go.
What a freakin’ awesome place to do lunch! I was only in town for the day but I had looked this place up before arriving and drove straight to it. Unique and high quality soups, sandwiches and salads. I had the Cleopatra and a bowl of shrimp chowder. I was offered samples of other soups and provided info on what locals like. The service was fantastic from everyone, the greens were fresh and crisp. The chicken was cooked well and the chowder was to die for! I wish I had this place in my home town! The prices were fair and with water as a drink I was full and happy for just over $13. Portions are healthy and plentiful. The place was packed but I didn’t have to wait long for food. These folks got service down! Give it a TRY! You will be back. So nice to find good food when on the road! Thanks to the whole crew at Tanya’s!!
This place is a local treasure. Such a cozy spot with a lot of character. The food is always warm & comforting (the Milano sandwich is my favorite!) and staff are very welcoming. Never change a thing!
Wow! How have we missed this gem. Food and service was incredible!! We even got some chicken noodle to take home for a meal! Yum!
My Tomato Herb Bisque and Chef's Club were excellent. Service was great. Busy place, but plenty of seating for two. Hip and casual place to eat lunch in downtown Wichita.
I l♡ve Tanya's soup kitchen! I had the chicken noodle soup with mashed potatoes and it was really good. Perfect for a cold day! My friend ordered the spinach artichoke soup and that was creamy and delicious. I also ordered the bread pudding to take home for my hubby and it had just the right amount of spice and sweetness!
What a wonderful restaurant! I went with a very large group (27 people) after a conference we traveled from Texas for and staff was very kind when we all ordered. Each order came out very quick, warm and delicious! I ordered the Chicken tortilla soup and it was so good! My brother had the Cleopatra salad and I had a bit of it and it was also so delicious! We bought a recipe card book for the recipe for the apricot dressing on it. The Tomato Bisque is unique and has a very pleasant sweetness to it, my friends got it and i had a little. Staff cleaned up and served tables very quick and friendly. The menu has vegan and gluten free options too! If I’m ever back in Kansas I will definitely stop by here on my trip.
We find ourselves here at least once a week - The food is so amazing & fresh every time! We come for the soup, of course, but the salads/sandwiches are amazing as well! Really awesome to have the menu options change so often too. The staff are extremely friendly & efficient, even when they’re super busy. This has become a Wichita staple for us to bring our friends/family when visiting us from out-of-town!
I come here every Friday, and often Saturday and Sunday as well. Tanya’s Soup Kitchen has become one of those rare places that truly feels like a second home. The staff is always incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, welcoming, and inclusive. You can tell that the employees genuinely enjoy being there and truly care about the patrons they serve. That warmth is felt every single visit, not just because I am a regular, but because it is clearly part of who they are. The food has always been consistently delicious. Every meal is fresh, comforting, and made with care, and the consistency over time is something I really appreciate. This is a restaurant where I feel welcomed and cared for every time I walk through the door. Tanya’s Soup Kitchen is not just a place to eat, it is a place that makes you feel good being there.
The soup that they offer changes every season so there is no constant menu. I will say the portions were really great and the service was awesome! I would definitely come back as long as they have a soup that I like in roation.
